Hi! My name is Kristin Houston and this is my 18th year teaching (9th year in Oceanside). I have been teaching kindergarten for 16 years and love teaching this age. Along with teaching kindergarten at Reynolds Elementary in Oceanside, I have also taught middle school in Los Angeles, 5th grade in Carlsbad, kindergarten in Virginia Beach, and kindergarten and 3rd grade in Okinawa, Japan. With my many years of traveling and teaching in different areas I am always excited to bring all the wonderful ideas from previous schools to Reynolds.
I received my degree in Liberal Studies for Elementary Teaching with a emphasis on psychology from California State University Long Beach in 2002. I continued my education by receiving my multiple subject credential and masters in Cross Cultural Education from National University in 2004.
With all the wonderful joy teaching brings, my most precious joys come from my family. I am a mother of three kids that keep my husband and I very busy with after school sports and activities. We enjoy camping, skiing/snowboarding, and going to the beach. After hours I am just a mom in the neighborhood and please never hesitate to come over and say hello while we are all cheering our kids on at their various activities and sports.
