ONTARIO– Over 40 elementary school students from the Ontario School District’s talented and gifted program toured a local shoe factory in Ontario last month with the program’s first-ever coordinator.
The second through sixth graders learned about the shoe-making process at NuuSol, the makers of Crocs and flip-flops, during the Oct. 24 field trip, according to Valerie Reynolds, the district’s first coordinator of the program.

2023-2024 Elementary TAG Enrichment Classes
Students need early exposure to community colleges because it allows them to familiarize themselves with the college environment, explore potential career paths and become motivated to earn college credits while still in high school. Our goal is to build confidence in their academic abilities, and understand the accessible pathway to higher education, especially for those considering transferring to a four-year university later on; ultimately increasing the likelihood of them pursuing further education and achieving their academic goals.
