All About Me:
I welcome you to our school communities and am excited to partner with you for student well-being and achievement. I have a B.A. in Education (6-12) and M.Ed. in School Counseling (K-12), and enjoy using experience from both teaching and counseling to serve students and families.
Our school counseling programs follow the American School Counselor Association’s (ASCA) model for a comprehensive approach to improve student success. We implement the ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success as the framework for our program. School academic, attendance and discipline data helps us further identify student needs and provides direction for additional support. Through our counseling program, students have access to the following services:
➸ Classroom Counseling Lessons - Dedicated to academic, personal/social, and academic success concepts. Social and emotional skill lessons are preventative in nature, in effort to set students up for success.
➸ Small Group Counseling - Focuses on helping students learn and practice skills that contribute to school and life success. Groups offered are, but not limited to: social skills, friendship skills, school success skills, emotions and self-regulation, resilience skills, anger management, hygiene, and family changes. Group participation is with parent/guardian permission.
➸ Individual Counseling - Offered in a confidential and supportive one-on-one setting to help students overcome personal or school-related issues. Individual counseling is with parent/guardian permission but may also meet an immediate student need or concern.
➸ Referral to community programs and services.
