iSchool Coordinator - Ms. Nevarez
Ms. Nevarez has been with the Osborn School District for 9 years, and has taught several different grade levels at Solano School and served as Master Teacher.
She received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education in 2014 through ASU's iTeach AZ program. She also holds a Bachelor's in Psychology, with a Minor in Sociology from ASU. She has a passion for educational technology, and routinely seeks out certifications and courses to continue her learning in this area.
In her spare time she is a voracious reader, amateur artist, and loves spending time with her family! She is very excited to fill this role within the iSchool!
MTSS Specialist/Mentor Teacher - Mrs. Holderman
Hi, my name is Melissa Holderman and I am proud to be the MTSS Specialist/Mentor for OCiS this year. I have been teaching since 1993, and as a lifelong learner I am always looking to develop my skills and learn new ways to be an effective educator. I believe that school should be enjoyable and always strive to make learning fun!
I have a wonderful husband and an amazing 19 year old son, as well as three dogs and one very fluffy cat named Chester. We enjoy visiting National Parks in the summer, and skiing in the winter.
I love to sing, do Zumba, go to the beach and spend time with my BFF. I go roller skating whenever I can! I love to read fiction, and I have an obsession with British TV shows.
My favorite thing about teaching is when a child becomes a reader.
“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” -Margaret Fuller

Hi! My name is Mr. Hendricks, and I’m excited to be returning to Osborn for my second year as a sixth grade teacher and my eighth year overall. I first came to Osborn as an intern in ASU's iTeach program while I was earning my master's degree in education, and I've been continually astounded by the amazing students I get to teach every year since then. Each year presents a new opportunity to learn and grow as individuals and a community, and I can’t wait to see where this one takes us!
I was born and raised here in Arizona. My parents are both teachers, so I grew up spending more time at school than most kids. When I'm not teaching, I love to draw cartoons, play video games, watch movies, and read while cuddled up with my cat, Phoebe, and my dog, Shy. I'm always looking to learn and try something new. I believe in creating a classroom culture where everyone feels safe and respected for who they are, and is given what they need to develop new skills and expand their knowledge. Recovering from mistakes, embracing failure, and overcoming challenges are essential. Let's have a great year together!
Resource - Ms. Orozco
My name is Maya Orozco and I am the resource teacher here at the Osborn Community iSchool. It is my first year teaching in the Osborn School District and I am very excited to learn and grow with everyone!
I was born and raised in Upland, California up until I was 11. Then I moved to Arizona and have been here ever since! I have always known that I wanted a career that focused on working with students in a school setting. Becoming a teacher felt like the best life choice I could have made. I chose the teacher program at Arizona State University and am completing a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. I was a student teacher in the Osborn district for a year before being offered a position as the resource teacher.
My interests include making and viewing art, watching movies, listening to music, and going to concerts. I enjoy spending time with friends and family as much as possible. I love to travel when I can and going to new places.
Click on the teacher's name to connect to their Class Dojo. By connecting to your teacher's class you can communicate with them easily and become a member of Osborn Community iSchool's Class Dojo in order to see important updates for the whole school!
