Osborn School District educates a multicultural, multilingual, and multi-ethnic community. Our students come from around the world, representing over 40 different countries, 30 different languages, as well as a vast number of cultures, traditions, and religions.
Many of our refugees arrive to the United States from a number of war-torn countries. To support the specialized needs of refugee children academically, emotionally, and socially, Osborn provides a number of special services for its refugee children and families.
Some of the many services include:
Translation and/or interpretation of documents, conferences, and other important information
Small group and individualized academic instruction, cultural orientation, and English Language Learning
Summer school placement for English language learning and core academic skills
Parent information sessions on school expectations and norms
Immediate on-site interpretation for emergencies or as needed
Additional support services are provided as needed or when specifically requested.
