Meet Mrs. Cray

I'm Mrs. Cray and I am the Achieve teacher at the high school and joined the Hope Squad to work with student members to save lives. By working and learning with dedicated Hope Squad students and advisors, we will make our school and greater community a better place for all to work, play, and live.

Meet Ms. Hahn

I am Ms. Missi Hahn, She/Her/Hers, School Counselor I am so very excited to be a part of this brand new club! I absolutely enjoy helping students be their best selves and look forward to supporting as many students as possible! We have a great group of student leaders with some amazing ideas on how to reach out to support our school community! I spend the majority of my time with my family, especially now during this pandemic. I love watching the Packers, preferably when they WIN and I like to spend time Up North near Rhinelander, being near the water is such a relaxing way for me to recharge. I also enjoy a good Netflix or Hulu series, so please share your favs with me.

Meet Ms. Oscar

My name is Ms. Oscar and I'm the Mental Health Coordinator at OHS and a Hope Squad advisor. I became a part of the program because I'm passionate about suicide awareness and prevention and enjoy working with students to educate, support and connect with them around these issues!

Meet Mrs. Pliner

I'm Janet Pliner (she/hers), a Social Emotional Learning Coach here at OHS and OMS which means I get to work with staff and students on developing social and emotional skills or wellness. Trying to ensure that others have what they need socially and emotionally is really important to me, which is why I’m so excited about Hope Squad. Hope Squad works to boost mental health while reducing the stigma around it. I like how it promotes friendship, connection and a sense of belonging and our members have monthly trainings where they learn how to best support fellow students who may be struggling. I also love hanging out with my family and friends and enjoy lakes, baseball, Badger games and long walks.

Meet Mrs. Weinert

I am Mrs. Juanita Weinert, Family and Consumer Science/Health Teacher. I am very excited that we can bring HOPE Squad to OHS. Having my own family and friends struggling with mental health, I know the importance of support. I am passionate about teaching others how to be active listeners and how to respond to individuals struggling with emotional issues such as depression and suicide. I know that students reach out to each other, and I am excited that we are training students who are part of the HOPE squad to be active listeners and how to help and respond to peers who are struggling. I love spending time with my family, spending time outdoors, sewing for my grandchildren, and watching suspenseful movies. I look forward to growing the HOPE Squad and helping our OHS community reduce the stigma surrounding mental health conditions and promoting a positive mental health environment.
