Ms. Howery teaches Social Studies on the Green 2 team.
Cultural studies will be the basis for our entire year. We will look for patterns in cultures and how those patterns change over time.
Geography will be woven throughout the units this year as well. After learning more about the world in terms of geography, we will learn how geography affects where people live and how people in a geographic area live, work, play, travel and more.
We will review historical aspects of Wisconsin and the First Nations of Wisconsin, and then will focus on present day issues and learn how each Nation is helping the state of Wisconsin.
In this unit we will learn about the history of the people living in Mexico, Central America and South America. We will also learn about the economy and current issues in this part of the world.
As we explore Canada we will discover how the geography affects the economy.
