American Indian Boarding Schools:
Two Roads
In this unit we will read the historical fiction novel, Two Roads by Joseph Bruchac. We will also read informational text about American Indian Boarding Schools and learn more about American Indians throughout the United States.
Our focus will be:
Analysis of a fiction text
Character analysis
Identifying the theme of a fiction text and citing textual evidence
Writing a literary argument essay
Building vocabulary
Space Science
Hidden Figures
In this unit we will read about remarkable accomplishments in Space Science. We will read articles about different innovators and explorers.

Identifying claims that can be supported with text evidence
