Our mentor text is Among the Hidden. Students will read books in small groups (book clubs) and study character, character change, setting, plot, and theme.
Social Issues
Students will read fiction and study social issues, plot, theme, and literary devices.
Tapping the Power of Nonfiction
Students will read nonfiction articles and books. They will look for central idea and supporting details.
