ICDC Recap

Ascend DECA at ORCA attended the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta, Georgia during the month of April, participating in competitive events and the Emerging Leader Series.

Lux (President), Sarah (VP), and Luis (VP of Finance) attended, creating lasting friendships and exploring the beautiful city of Atlanta and all its offerings including Coca-Cola World and the Georgia Aquarium-- one of the only aquariums in the world to house a Whale Shark.

They attended the ICDC Opening Ceremony at Mercedes Benz Stadium, networked with other chapters and individuals across multiple-day events, and gained skills in leadership, presentation, marketing, and personal finance.

We are proud of their achievements and cannot wait to return to ICDC in Anaheim, California in 2027.

State Leadership Conference (SCDC)

Lux, Sarah, Luis, and Julie presented both the Art For Wellbeing Contest and Embernest, a solution to freezing cold temperatures at SCDC and gained experience in public speaking, leadership, and business practices. They were able to network, view other school's DECA chapters' projects, and participate in workshops.

ASCEND DECA hopes to garner more funds for sending officers to SCDC next year and to compete in a variety of competitions. 🔹⭐️
