Online Learning Hub

This site will be used to provide important links for pupils to be able to access online portals and resources so that they can continue their learning from home. 

Some homework will be online for the foreseeable future. Children have been allocated log ins to Active Learn and Education City. Reception and Year 1 children also have access to ‘Teach your Monster to Read’.

We will also be using Google Classroom as part of our online learning platform. Homework is set and marked weekly so please ensure your children complete all activities set. 

We will also provide general updates via our website with regards any changes so please keep checking the school website regularly.

ORCHARD PRIMARY SCHOOL VIRTUAL LIBRARy

Please take a look at our brand new virtual library!

 It's very easy to access...just click on the icon in the top right corner to open the virtual library. Scroll down through each bookshelf and pick a book!

 The virtual library has a selection of books for you to enjoy. I wonder which one will be your favourite?

You can click on any of the book covers for a link to that book being read aloud. I hope you enjoy these books and if you have any suggestions for others you'd like to see in our virtual library, please let your teachers know.

Different books will be uploaded regularly so please keep checking the bookshelves.

Our fundraising at Orchard Primary School was a huge success! 

Thanks to everyone's efforts and generosity, we were able to purchase a digital subscription to First News.

Your latest issue of First News is now available.

A very useful app which has a huge amount of resources to help kids to learn to read and write - very good for early years.

Teach your monster to read

Details of this app were provided to Reception and Year 1 to use for phonics but can be used by all to improve reading. Includes many fun games for children to play.

BBC Bitesize

The BBC has launched an education package across TV and online, featuring celebrities and teachers, helping to keep children learning at home and supporting parents.

Dance mat typing

Pupils will be using computers more then they have been used to during this period, so Bitesize is offering some training to help youngsters on their way.

This is an introduction to touch typing for children aged 7 - 11 years.
