OI Futures Lounge
The OI Futures Lounge started in 2021. It provides space and counseling to all OIHS students beginning in 7th grade. We work with families to support post-secondary planning. Whether finding a job or internship, investigating trade schools, or applying to 2- and 4-year colleges, students have a dedicated time and space to focus on school success, career exploration, and ultimately support for applying to colleges and for scholarships. In addition to one-on-one guidance, Juniors and Seniors can explore off-island through field trips to various campuses and other training environments. The goal of the program is to create an individualized pathway for each student on their way to post-OISD success.

Kate Long is available to answer questions and lend support at the start of the 2025-26 school year. OIHS Seniors and their families can contact Kate to help research college programs, develop a college list, and investigate other opportunities. Contact Kate at klong@oisd.org.
