Our esports community and district achieved a great milestone.
During the school board meeting, I, along with my dedicated esports team and some esteemed district colleagues, presented the incredible journey and accomplishments of esports over the past six years.
It's amazing to see the evolution and growth of esports within our educational landscape. From its humble beginnings to what it stands for today, esports has broken barriers and redefined what extracurricular activities mean for our students.
During the presentation, we highlighted the various achievements of esports, including teamwork, strategic thinking, digital literacy, attendance, grades, and leadership skills. More importantly, we showcased the positive impact it has had on our student's lives, providing a platform for them to thrive and excel in an environment that caters to their passions and interests.
As I look back on this momentous occasion. Let's celebrate not only how far we've come but also the boundless potential that lies ahead. Together, we'll continue to champion esports as a vehicle for growth, empowerment, and opportunity for all.
Here's to the future of esports and the bright futures it will continue to cultivate!Â
And just like that, our season has come to an end. We played three games, and unfortunately, we lost the first one. We fought hard in the second game, but it wasn't enough. Despite the challenges, I'm incredibly proud of these kids. We experienced highs and lows, but everyone stuck together, worked hard to get better, and transformed into a cohesive team.
We had an absolute blast hosting this event for our amazing school staff, filled with excitement, laughter, and friendly competition.
This year, Mr. Tajonera faced off against the formidable Mr. Corbett and the swift Ms. Andersen in a thrilling showdown to determine the ultimate racer. After some intense racing and edge-of-your-seat moments, Mr. Tajonera emerged victorious, clinching the coveted title! 🥇🚗💨
A huge thank you to everyone who participated and supported this event. Your enthusiasm and sportsmanship made it a truly memorable experience for all. We are already looking forward to next year’s competition and can’t wait to see who will take the crown in our 3rd Educators Cup.
Stay tuned for more exciting events and until then, keep those engines revving! 🏎️💨Â

Courtesy of NASEF, our students were asked to be part of a panel at the CA Steam Symposium this year. They had the opportunity to speak on "Why Scholastic Esports" is important in our schools.
The KTLA Weekend show has a 9 am segment called “Link up with Lynette". During this segment, they ask their audience to share any good news. Well, if you didn’t know, last Friday, April 1st, our Esports program was given the opportunity to be a part of a panel with Tech and Learning on “Why Esports in K-12”. We had such a good experience on the panel at UCI that Mr. Larios decided to share how proud he was of his students. Mr. Larios reached out to the news anchor, and shared some images from their awesome experience, hoping to possibly make the segment on Sunday. Guess what…. We did!
Villa Park, Ca: On December 8th, eFuse in association with NaceSports (The National Association of Collegiate Esports) and Respawn Products named VPHSesports as one of the winners of their 12 Days of Respawn. Our campus was awarded 12 gaming chairs to help support our ever-growing esports program. We were one of 6 other schools chosen as winners.
Â
Mr. Larios entered this contest after he was introduced to the opportunity by a colleague in the esports industry.
Â
"I honestly forget that I had entered this contest and, I received an email out of the blue that caught my attention and froze me in the middle of a discussion with my design interns."
-Mr. Larios

Our program was officially notified via Twitter that we were chosen as winners.
