Details of the Current Unit
The plan is for this unit to become the PYP exhibition in the next few years. Here are some current details about this unit:
Students investigate the 17 different United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to learn more about them.
They then choose their top 3 (or 5) that they would like to research further.
The 6th grade teachers put them into groups based on their choices and take into account the makeup of the groups.
Groups then work together to research the following information about their chosen goal:
Who this issue mostly impacts
Where it mostly occurs
Significant events related to this issue
Ways they can take action to help achieve this goal
Why they chose this goal
The students then create a Google Slides presentation based on their research to present to their class.
