Details of the Current Unit

The plan is for this unit to become the PYP exhibition in the next few years. Here are some current details about this unit:

  • Students investigate the 17 different United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to learn more about them.

  • They then choose their top 3 (or 5) that they would like to research further.

  • The 6th grade teachers put them into groups based on their choices and take into account the makeup of the groups.

  • Groups then work together to research the following information about their chosen goal:

    • Who this issue mostly impacts

    • Where it mostly occurs

    • Significant events related to this issue

    • Ways they can take action to help achieve this goal

    • Why they chose this goal

  • The students then create a Google Slides presentation based on their research to present to their class.
