A Chromebook is like a laptop that is designed for office and school work. It is lightweight, has a long-lasting battery, and runs on ChromeOS. Chromebooks are easy to use, have virus protection built-in, and have a long-life battery. Students in grades 6-12 are assessed an annual $40.00 Technology Fee that covers all accidental damage and repair. NOTE: Students will be assessed the full cost to repair or to replace any chromebook due to intentional damage.   In addition, the Technology Fee does not cover chromebook chargers that are lost or stolen.

Chromebooks that are broken or fail to work properly are to be taken to the Library/Media Center. Provided the damage is due to an accident as opposed to negligent or intentional misuse, costs associated with the repair or replacement of the Chromebook will be covered.  If a loaner Chromebook is needed, one will be issued to the student until their Chromebook can be repaired or replaced. As per policy 5513, if Chromebook damage is due to neglect or intentional misuse, students will be charged the cost to repair or to replace the Chromebook (the cost to replace a chromebook is $200).
