A.I.G. (Academically/Intellectually Gifted) Program

Grant Gibson, AIG Specialist

What is "AIG"?

  • A.L. Stanback's AIG program offers challenge and enrichment for students who are ready to go beyond standard curriculum. Students can be identified for AIG services through a referral process that takes place in the fall, winter, and spring. Students who were previously identified as AIG in elementary school will continue to receive services. Students may qualify in English Language Arts, Math, or both.
  • Students who are not identified as AIG may still be placed in Math Plus and/or English Language Arts Plus classes based on teacher and parent recommendation. Eighth graders are given the opportunity to participate in Math 1 and English 1 classes, which are both high school credited classes. Instruction in Plus classes is compacted and accelerated and involves more advanced topics with greater depth and complexity.
