A CTE Internship allows for additional development of career and technical competencies within a general career field. Internships allow students to observe and participate in daily operations, develop direct contact with job personnel, ask questions about particular careers, and perform certain job tasks. This activity is exploratory and allows the student to get hands-on experience in a number of related activities. The teacher, student, and the business community jointly plan the organization, implementation, and evaluation of an internship, regardless of whether it is an unpaid or paid internship. While most internships are unpaid, some are paid. Internships are not guaranteed. You are required to interview with the potential employer and they must select you for the internship.
Steps to Take:
Complete this Internship Application for the 2025-2026 school year.
Meet with Mrs. Smith to discuss possible internship sites.
Interview with potential internship employers.
If selected for an internship, complete an Internship Agreement Form and Internship Transportation and Medical Consent Form and submit them to Mrs. Smith.
If you have not completed OSHA training and received your certification, you will be required to do that before starting the internship.
All students will report to Mrs. Smith in the Career Center, room A128, on the first day of class each semester. Students will not be allowed to leave campus until all forms are submitted and approved and OSHA training is complete.
