Have you ever heard (or said yourself), “I’m really not a math person?” or “I did fine in math except for word problems?” Well, if you and your child love to read than you can be good at math, too! This summer is a great time to help build connections between math and reading. If you think about it, math and reading are the way we make sense of the world. Patterns and symbols are both at the heart of math and literacy. Additionally, both fiction reading and math revolve around problems to be solved.
