All OSA students in Years 7 to 11 are required to comply with full school uniform (see uniform guidelines below).
Students are expected to take pride in the way they look in and around school and on their journey to and from school and whenever in uniform.
Students are also expected to wear uniform when representing the school, or attending formal functions arranged by the school.
The school’s uniform guidelines below state clearly what is expected in terms of basic uniform for students in Years 7 to 11. It lists certain items that are not allowed, including makeup and jewellery.
If students do not comply with the guidelines, in the first instance they will have the uniform log in their planner signed. If necessary, communication home will be made in the case of persistent non-compliers. Sanctions are indicated in each student planner and depend on how many times the guidelines have not been followed.
OSA is sensitive to the needs of different cultures, races, religions and gender identities in relation to uniform and dress code. Cost, quality and the service of the school’s uniform suppliers are closely monitored and changes are made as and when appropriate.
It is expected that all items be purchased from the school’s suppliers, or be identical in style and appearance if purchased elsewhere.
It is important that all uniform and equipment is named.
