The school’s expectation is that the vast majority of communication will be directed towards Form Tutors, Heads of Faculty and the Head of Year 7. At the start of the Autumn term you will be sent an email with all the relevant email addresses you will need once your child has started at Onslow St Audrey's.
Once an enquiry has been received, the member of staff will contact the parent within two working days to acknowledge that they have received the enquiry. Should the matter require information to be gathered and collated, this will be completed and reported to the parent within (at the most) eight working days. Often enquiries are very simple to take care of and are completed well within the eight-day period.
The school would request that parents only telephone the administrative staff in reception to leave a message for their child in an emergency. With around 1500 students, administrative staff can't deliver messages to individuals.
The school sends information to parents frequently via email. Using email as the preferred method of communication has vastly improved the speed and reliability of communication from school to parents.
With regard to parents communicating with the school, the preferred methods of communication are by phone, email or in a meeting. It is often difficult to know whom to approach when you have an enquiry and so we would request that you follow the guidance below.
Most commonly, communication is via telephone and often parents will speak to a member of the administrative staff in reception and then be asked to leave a voicemail message with the member of staff they wish to contact. Please refer to the earlier page which has the names of current key members of staff.
OSA makes every attempt to keep parents informed of their child’s progress at school and the Department for Education (DfE) has requested that separated parents be given the option to receive this information. The school recognises that families can be very complex and would ask if possible for you to advise us of any matters in confidence of which you feel the school should be aware of. Separated parents have the option to receive documentation from the school about their child's progress.
