How?
Any teacher can teach a class outside their certification area (“Incidental Teaching”).
Assign the course an appropriate BED code based on Computer Science courses
Apply for Statement of Continued Eligibility (SOCE) to continue teaching CS courses. Limitations:
10 years
Same district
“Incidental Teaching” can still occur after 2024 deadline
Already certified teachers would only need 12 additional credits, to be eligible for additional CS Certificate…
"12 credits is lowest bar that has ever been set" by the OTI (Office of Teaching Initiatives)
