MEET MS. CARLISLE

MEET MS. CARLISLE

My name is Mindy Carlisle. This year marks my twelfth year teaching at Eagle Bluff Elementary School. It will be my fourth year teaching fourth grade in the building after seven years teaching second grade and one year teaching first grade. It has been a wonderful experience teaching at so many levels!

The oldest of four children, I grew up in the coulee region and attended high school at La Crosse Central High School. I then graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade education with a minor in special education. After graduating, I taught fourth and third grades in both the Minnetonka Public School District and the Waunakee School District. I took a break from teaching to stay home with my three daughters when they were young. After an eleven year hiatus, I was fortunate to begin full-time teaching again at our wonderful school. I recently earned my Master's Degree in Education from Viterbo University with an emphasis in reading. I proved that you really can teach an old dog new tricks!

I have raised three amazing daughters who are now all living on their own. I am so proud of the adults they have become. Allison is now attending medical school at MCW and Katherine and Lauren are working towards chemical engineering degrees at UW-Madison where Katherine is a senior and Lauren is a sophomore. We have two family dogs, Sophie, is our twelve year old shih tzu who is aging quite rapidly, and Charlee is Allison's sweet two-year-old cavapoo. We love snuggling our doggies and can't imagine life without them.

Spending time with family is what I love, and pictured here are my favorite people doing some of our favorite things together. We enjoy exploring new places, hiking, attending Badger games, reading a great book on the beach or on a remote mountain trail, and cheering on each other's accomplishments. It doesn't matter what we are doing, being together with family is the highlight of my life!

I am looking forward to welcoming you to my fourth-grade family. From the first day of school, you will forever be in my heart, and will always be part of my extended family. I can't wait to begin our new journey together! Welcome to fourth grade! Let's have a wonderful year making memories together!
