Counselors are responsible for the direct supervision of campers, and must be sixteen or older by June 1st. They meet campers at check-in and ride to sites with them in buses and/or vans. Counselors stay overnight in cabins or tents with the campers, eat with them at meal times, and facilitate fun activities during recreation time, rest time, and transitions between activities.
Working closely with other members of the Outdoor Science Education team, counselors support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of each camper. Drawing from their experience and the training we provide, they build community and form friendships through games, conversations, cabin activities, and campfires. Counselors also assist instructors during lessons and campouts.
The days are long and the work is rewarding. Housing and meals are provided during programming only, weekend housing is not available. Required certifications: Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (training not provided).
