WORLD EMOJI DAY

Emojis are essential to communicate emotion. Emojis are meant to be fun, light-hearted and convey a broad range of emotions efficiently and in a way that words sometimes cannot. Children are attracted towards colours and animated characters. Emojis are one of the most popular amongst them. To explore a wide range of emotions through emojis - World Emoji Day was celebrated in Nursery class. Teacher started the day with an emoji game where she displayed a few emojis through a ppt and later asked the learners to make their emoji face which was then followed by an emoji making activity. Learners made different emoji face masks whichever they liked. The day was filled with fun. It was a successful event!

CURIOUS EXPLORER

A fun filled colour activity was conducted in the class as a part of the curious explorer activity. The teacher asked the learners to arrange the materials as per the activity and gave instructions to them as per the activity. The learners performed the activity and were amazed to see how the tissue paper absorbed the colour from the glass of water.

MATH

As a part of revision of the concept of Day and Night, a fun activity was done in the class. The teacher asked the learners to cover themselves in a blanket to experience the night time and then use a flashlight or a torch as moonlight. Teacher explained to the learners about the difference we see during the day and night. The learners excitedly did the activity. As a part of reflection of the activity learners were asked to share a few pictures about the things they do during the day and night.

Young children love colour! It catches their eye and grabs their attention. Colour is not only exciting for a child, but it also helps with their learning. To learn more about colours, the introduction of yellow colour was done in the class. Teachers displayed a few yellow objects. She later asked the learners to fetch some yellow objects around them.

ENGLISH

Teacher introduced the letter Cc in class. She showed the learners on how to form the letter C. Teachers also shared the phonics sound and action of the letter. Later, the teacher showed different objects starting with Cc and asked the learners to look for it around their house. It was a fun learning session.

INTERNATIONALLY MINDEDNESS

Internationally-mindedness means understanding, respecting and valuing different cultures, embracing diversity and knowing that different perspectives have a great deal to offer. To open windows into fascinating new cultures, Nursery learners were introduced to the country China. The teacher showed the map and flag of China and explained about the different colours in the flag and what they indicate. Learners were excited to see the flag and map and learn about it.
