MATH

Part of Math, numbers, and Math literacy is learning to spell and write number words. Kids need to be able to write the words after being given a number written in digits and they need to be able to translate the written version into digits.

Having the kids actually write the words from memory is the only real way to determine if they have learned them adequately.

So our learners were introduced to Number words wherein the teachers wrote each number on the white board as well as displayed on the screen and spelled each word and asked the students to repeat the same from One to Ten.

Then they were instructed to write them in their Math books and were asked to memorize the spellings. The learners understood the concept very well.

THEME

We are excited for our new theme on 'Life-cycle of animals'. This week we started with the 'Classification of animals' knowing more about the 'Vertebrates and the Invertebrates' through Google slides displayed on the screen by the teachers.

Our K2 learners were able to identify the vertebrates and the Invertebrates' and illustrate them in the right column.

WORLD EMOJI DAY

In the Internet Age now communication goes far beyond just by pressing a simple text message. Small iconic images that are mostly seen on social media or text messages are known as emojis which are more popular on the internet today. World Emoji Day is celebrated to represent an idea or an emotion through electronic means.

When we feel lazy or when we are at a loss for words then we use emojis to express what we want to. For every feeling, there are emojis now. From the past years, emojis have evolved. It not only expresses simple human feelings but more than that.

To make this event more interesting and fun we played a game with our learners Guess the Emoji-Trivia and guessing game. Our learners smart as usual did an amazing job of guessing the compound words. It was fun and interactive and engaging as the learners shouted out their answers with exciting voices.

PARENT-PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

In the ‘new normal’, parents and other caregivers have to play a more significant role in the learning and development of their child than they have done traditionally. More so, because most education is now taking place in the home environment instead of the school campus, without the physical presence of teachers.

RBKIS Olive Trails took this great initiative to reach out to our Parents and Kids and organized a Parent Partnership Program as requested by the parents. The kids were excited to interact with the teacher and other peers and performed some activities arranged by the teachers like digital atelier, they worked on thinking clouds, they played tic tac toe and also roamed the campus and played in the garden. They also had some music and movement session. It was truly an amazing and touching sight more than we contemplated.
