INTRODUCTION
In this final stage of the Future City Project, you will present your solution like a real engineer.
Throughout this project, you identified a real-world problem, explored ideas, designed a solution, built a prototype, and tested it using the scientific method. Please bring everything together to showcase your work and impact.
Engineers don’t just build solutions — they also communicate their ideas clearly to others. Your goal is to present your thinking, your design, and your results in a way that others can understand and be inspired by.
You will create a complete project showcase including:
A presentation board
A 3D prototype model
A Padlet post to explain and share your project
This is your opportunity to share your idea with others and demonstrate how your solution can make a difference.
learning objectives
I can:
Explain my problem, solution, and impact clearly
Show how my idea developed through the engineering design process
Describe how I used testing and data (scientific method) to improve my design
Build a physical or digital 3D model of my solution
Create a clear and organized presentation board
Communicate my project using a Padlet post
Reflect on what I learned and how I would improve my design
Final Deliverables (What You Must Complete)
🪧 1. Presentation Board
Your board should clearly explain your project:
Include:
Title of your project
The problem
Who you are helping (your client)
Your “How Might We” statement
Your solution
Design sketches or diagrams
Testing results (data, observations)
Final improvements
🏗 2. 3D Prototype Model
Build a model of your solution using available materials or digital tools.
Your model should:
Represent your idea clearly
Show how your solution works
Highlight key features of your design
💻 3. Padlet Post (Digital Explanation)
Create a post that explains your project.
Include:
A short explanation of your problem
Images of your prototype
A short video or written explanation of your solution
What you learned
How does your solution help people
🎤 Presentation (Optional but Recommended)
Be ready to present your project:
Explain your idea in 1–2 minutes
Answer questions about your design
Share what makes your solution unique
🧠 Reflection (Built-In)
Think like an engineer:
What worked well?
What challenges did you face?
How did testing help improve your design?
What would you change next time?
