With over 10 years experience in the creative industry and educational environment, Artability.Co's founder Karun Ramani has a unique blend of professionalism and nurturing attitude toward young artists. Artability.Co's main mission is to introduce students to the exciting world of traditional and digital art techniques. This year, campers will be working with 4 hybrid media combining digital platforms and traditional art techniques: Virtual Reality, Still Photo Painting, Comic Book Design and Stop-Motion Animation.
ART CAMP THEMES
Week 1: Stewardship of the Earth
Monday – VR Art: Garden of Jannah
Using VR tools, kids will draw a paradise filled with trees, rivers, and bright flowers, exploring the concept of stewardship (khilafah) of the Earth.
Tuesday – Still Life Painting: Fruit Bowl
Using 3D Viewer App, campers will take a shot of a still life object which is the fruit bowl and then paint it using acrylics.
Thursday – Comic Book Design: Keepers of the Earth
Through a fun digital comic, kids will tell the story of young heroes cleaning up their city and protecting nature
Friday – Lego Stop Motion: A Clean Earth
Campers will animate a short clip where characters keep their surroundings clean by clearing trash, showcasing how we can care for the planet.
Week 2: Pathways and Precision
Monday – VR Art: The Traveler’s Path
Campers will design a VR drawing of a road or sea route, inspired by Quranic references to travel and trade.
Tuesday – Still Life Painting: Nuh’s (AS) Ark
Using 3D Viewer App, campers will paint a photograph of a model boat and paint it, connecting it to the story of Prophet Nuh’s (AS) Ark
Thursday – Comic Book Design: The Journey of a Merchant
Using a fun digital comic app, campers will illustrate a comic showing a traveler’s adventure through different modes of transport, inspired by Islamic trade routes.
Friday – Lego Stop Motion: Sailing Through Time
Campers will animate a Lego ship sails through sea, showing ancient and modern transportation.
Week 3: Blueprint of Life
Monday – VR Art: The Miracle of the Heart
Kids will draw a glowing 3D heart, learning about the intricate design of the human body.
Tuesday – Still Life Painting: The Human Portrait
A photo of a portrait will be turned into a beautiful painting, reflecting on the human creation.
Wednesday – Comic Book Design: The Healing Powers of Nature
Using a fun digital comic app, camper will create a comic about a young bee making honey.
Friday – Stop Motion: Stages of Life
An embryo grows from a baby to an elder, showcasing human development
Week 4: Cosmic Wonders
Monday – VR Art: The Universe Expands
Campers will create a cosmic VR scene with stars and galaxies, inspired by the creation of haveans
Tuesday – Still Life Painting: The Starry Sky and Constellations
Campers will paint moonlit starry night sky scene reflecting on the miraclous staff.
Thursday – Comic Book Design: A Muslim Astronaut
Campers will illustrate a comic of a young astronaut exploring the universe, inspired by the description of stars and planets creation describe in Surat Al-Ana'm.
Friday – Stop Motion: Rocket Launch!
Campers will animate a paper cut out rocket that takes off into space, showing the wonders of flight.
Week 5: Nature’s Symphony
Monday – VR Art: The Animal Kingdom
Campers will design a lush jungle or ocean world in VR, inspired by the description of the plants and gardens creation.
Tuesday – Still Life Painting: The Busy Bee
Campers will paint a close-up photo of a bee on a flower, inspired by the description of bee creation in Surat Al-Nahl
Thursday – Comic Book Design: The Wise Ants
Campers will make a comic story about Prophet Sulaiman (AS) and the talking ants inspired by Surat Al-Naml.
Friday – Lego Stop Motion: Birds in Flight
Campers will animate a paper cut out bird as it flaps its wings and soars, inspired by The bird creation mentioned in Surat Al-Mulk
Week 6: Energy and Harmony
Monday – VR Art: The Sustainable City
Campers will design a city powered by renewable energy, inspired by the creation of sun and moon, day and night mentioned in Surat Ibrahim (AS)
Tuesday – Still Life Painting: The Light of Knowledge
Campers will paint a photo of a glowing candle or bulb, symbolizing guidance of Allah described in Surat Al-Noor.
Thursday – Comic Book Design: The Energy Guardians
Campers will make a comic about kids discovering solar energy, inspired by the description of cosmic creation mentioned in Surat Ar-Rahman
Friday – Stop Motion: Wind Power in Action
Campers will animate paper cutout wind turbine spins, showcasing how nature provides energy.
