Learning Center Weekly Announcements
Registration meetings for Santa Barbara and Buellton students will begin this week, starting April 1.
High school students in Santa Barbara and Buellton (upcoming 9–12th grade students and late graduates) who plan to return next school year can schedule a registration meeting with their counselor by using this Registration Sign-Up.
Here is the Google Form of elective options for all high school students: Elective Options
Seniors:
Only students that earn ALL required credits will be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Seniors that do not qualify to participate will be notified the day before graduation
Only graduates that have returned ALL school property and paid for damaged property will receive their diploma
English Language Arts and Math FINALS will be taken IN-PERSON, 2nd semester for all high school students, May 2026
High School Finals Schedule:
ELA May 11- 15
Math: May 18-22
Grades 9 and 10 in the 9 AM- noon
Grades 11 and 12 in the PM 1 - 3 PM
Students ID's! Email Ms. Jackie at jesparza@olivegrovecharter.org and make an appointment to take your picture and get your ID.
Work Permits
Must have at least a 2.0 GPA
Cannot be on academic probation
Must get approval from your counselor first
Must be at least 16 year of age
Estudiantes de último año:
Solo los estudiantes que obtengan TODOS los créditos requeridos serán elegibles para participar en la ceremonia de graduación.
Los estudiantes de último año que no califiquen para participar serán notificados el día anterior a la graduación.

Join the 3rd Annual HST Virtual Science Fair
The Home Science Tools Virtual Science Fair is designed to make science fair participation feel possible, rewarding, and fun—for students and parents alike. Kids in grades K–12 design and conduct their own experiments, follow the scientific method, and share what they discover in a short, 1– to 5-minute video. No complicated setups or in-person events. Just curiosity, experimentation, and pride in the process.
Pre-registration is now open, making it easy to get started early and stay confident along the way. Students who pre-register receive guidance, project ideas, and weekly prompts to help learners build, test, and refine their experiments at their own pace. Whether this is your child’s first science fair or their third, support is built in—so learning feels exciting, not overwhelming.
This is an opportunity for kids to explore questions they care about, think like scientists, and share their work with confidence. From first hypotheses to final presentations, the Virtual Science Fair celebrates curiosity, effort, and discovery at every level.

What Else is Happening This Semester?
Tutoring appointments are available for all subjects including assistance with projects, lab assignments and worksheets (look for the link on your student's weekly update).
New Student Orientation and Materials Pick-Up:
We are so excited that you have chosen to partner with OGCS. We would like to welcome you as new and/or returning OGCS parents/guardians and students.
This year we are asking all of you to join us for an orientation meeting to review all documents for completed signatures, check out Chromebooks, have your ID photo taken, and we will introduce you to your new OGCS Advisor.
