At the end of the 1-hr accelerator, the Founder should be ready to take the next step. They should be able to expect the following from the Mentors sitting with them "around a table": to:
- a more honed idea, with a brief description of its essence; notes as to what to say and not say in a 1-minute pitch;; links to sites relevant to that specific idea.
- more clarity regarding the appropriate business model, and links to relevant sites for that specific idea.
- a clearer idea of the tasks ahead, and specifically of what to do as the next step, with links to sites offering explicit guidance;;
- a description of the skills and professions of the team-members the Founder will need to recruit, with some examples from the mentors on the site..
Physical round table: Drawback is the necessity of the availability of all the relevant mentors - and the Founder - at the same time and place. Best is to do it as part of a prearranged Meetup of many founders and mentors. Benefit is that one does not need all the coordination and technology of a virtual round table (video chat) as below.
[But isn't that ironic!? Shouldn't tech make this so much simpler to do than as a real-world meeting!?]Virtual: The founder and the mentors will be invited to participate in a google hangout video chat, which will be recorded in order to serve as a legal record of what transpired in case of conflict, or competing claims.
If all participants are agreed, a an audio-to-text-transcript can be provided to serve as meeting-notes, which would be especially useful for the founder.
In some circumstances a participant may be allowed to be 'audio-only' at the round-table.
Step 1: After a Founder submits a form, relevant mentors are identified for them, If these are available, a relevant idea-search mentor is contacted. The Founder & mentor coordinate to find a time of mutual availability for a video session.
Step 2: During a video session, the Founder's idea is rated as not-novel and relevant URLs are appended, or rated as "novel" and a 1-hr round-table is authorized
Step 3: The relevant mentors who were previously identified are entered into a group-scheduling application, so that they can identify a mutually-agreeable time. A mentor who volunteers for this will serve as moderator. They will invite the the mentors at the allotted time, and then invite the Founder to join.
