We offer our 3D printing services to students, staff, and the public. To request a 3D print job use the form below. We will respond with a price quote and estimated time of printing. Olds College does not offer 3D printing for profit; our fees cover materials and maintenance of our printers, so we can continue to provide this service.

"Tinkercad is a free online collection of software tools that help people all over the world think, create and make. We’re the ideal introduction to Autodesk, the leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software." Run through Tinkercad's built in tutorial to start designing.

Fusion 360 is a comprehensive design tool offered from the Autodesk suite. Allowing for parametric modeling and design you can use this tool to create accurate and functioning prototypes and test fit and motion and perform real time simulations of moving parts. You can obtain this software for 3 years under an educational license, useful for learning the software and designing prototypes for 3d printing. It is recommended to take a look at Fusion 360 tutorials to get started

"SketchUp Free is the easiest way to draw in 3D, now delivered in a web browser. Draw, orbit, push-pull: make anything you can imagine, however you envision it." As an Olds College student you also have SketchUp for schools attached to your account. Simply select the Google Apps button from your OC Email, select more, and choose SketchUp for Schools. Take a look at SketchUp's video Tutorials to start designing.

"Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation." Check out Blender's tutorials to get started.
