The College and Career Readiness (CCR) Program at Old Saybrook High School ensures that all students engage in meaningful exploration and preparation for post-secondary pathways. The program is designed to promote self-awareness, informed decision-making, and purposeful planning for life beyond graduation.
Through individualized guidance, experiential learning opportunities, and exposure to a broad range of career and educational options, students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary for successful transitions to college, career, military service, or skilled trades.
High school goes by quickly — and before you know it, graduation is here. College & Career Readiness (CCR) gives you the time, tools, and support to figure out what comes next.
CCR is about more than earning a credit. It’s about understanding yourself and making confident decisions about your future.
Through CCR, you will be provided with opportunities to:
Discover your strengths, interests, and values
Explore real careers — not just job titles
Connect with professionals and alumni
Gain hands-on experience through internships or job shadows
Learn about college, trade schools, military pathways, and other options
Build skills that employers and colleges look for
Create a plan that fits you
You don’t need to have everything figured out. CCR is designed to help you explore, ask questions, try new experiences, and refine your goals along the way.
By the time you graduate from Old Saybrook High School, you won’t just have a diploma — you’ll have direction, experience, and confidence in your next steps.
