Do you want to go on an adventure? A mission to see the cool mysterious pieces that students have created? Well then Spectrum Magazine is for you! The main theme for the Spectrum magazine this year is Space. Travel through the dark, mysterious dimensions beyond our surface, and see the enigmatic pieces that students have created! There are 5 different subsections that you can submit to: Sun, Moon, Comets, Constellations, and Black Holes.
A warm cosmic entity, hopeful, all-bright, and intense. A heavy passion of loving someone or something. A being of fervor that incites adventure. A piece of daylight, maybe even fire. Scenes endless with emotion, similar to our marvelous golden maiden, shrouding the land in light. It is the center of our solar system, influencing everything around us. Ignite your creativity, and be the brightest star of your piece.
These would include the pieces with the most passionate feelings and the stories behind them, the ones that have you on the edge of your seat, the ones that really draw you in and make you ask for more, even after they’re over.
Calm, peaceful, a touch of loneliness. A calm figure that represents mortal dreams and achievement at the end of our dreary days. It is the light that pierces the dark of night. The power of moon phases & change, just as we have our own, is something that starts out dark but turns into acceptance – it brings about mystery but also leaves room for wonder. Things may look bleak now, but things can, and will, change.
Pieces we're looking for are peaceful and calming. Something you can read to relax under a warm blanket and be happy for what you have. They could also be representative of the lonelier times.
Quick, short, yet spectacular. It’s easy to focus on how quick it can end, how things might happen once for a period of time, and never again. Dreams come and go, fast and active, but to live in the moment is a grand experience. It is flying, soaring, being free with no burden, be it a space of trials, or a space of victories. Some of the most wonderful things in life are gone as soon as it appears… But live on in the stories we tell.
These are the pieces filled with problems and turbulence that must be overcome.
Chance encounters, coincidences, fate. From the twelve zodiacs to the little bear who points north, the stars in our sky are symbols of acceptance, union, and connection. They come together and create massive beings who look down upon us. However, these stars hide secret treasures that the naked eye can’t see. These everlasting puzzle pieces appear to only those who are willing to look for them.
These are the pieces that make a bigger picture at the end, that catch you by surprise because you just weren’t expecting what came to be.
Once you enter, there’s no escape. The darkness of which you encounter will never fade. It is the void, where the ugliest of monsters hide. Our deepest fears and most terrifying memories resonate within this place, but it may come to be that the scariest monsters hide inside us. It’s time to face your inner demons.
These are the pieces that make you reflect. The ones that make you look behind you. The scary and the empty. The things that send a shiver up your spine.
