Course Description: Humanities is a survey of various beliefs, thoughts, values, and customs as portrayed in history, literature, language, folklore, music, philosophy, religion, visual art, and performing arts. Students will trace human attempts to establish meaning, understanding, and appreciation towards society and culture. This course is primarily organized as a topical experience with appropriate chronological sequence being considered.

Course Description: This course introduces students to at least five disciplines in the humanities, such as art, literature, dance, drama, cinema, philosophy, music, architecture, religion, and mythology. This course explores distinctions and relationships between the disciplines through study of their basic methods, themes, and forms.

Course Description: Students examine major forms of artistic expression from the past and present and from a variety of cultures. They learn to look at works of art critically, with intelligence and sensitivity, and to articulate what they see or experience. This course will meet the graduation requirement for humanities. Students must meet eligibility requirements and must take the A. P. exam to receive the weighted GPA and the Advanced Placement course title on the transcript.
