Each student is assigned an advisor. Advisors are charged with building relationships with students to support them socially, emotionally, and academically. Students meet with their advisors on a regular basis during LEAD.
LEAD is one period during the school day in which all students are empowered to be academically successful by fostering independence and ownership with choices and opportunities made available to ensure their personal growth. Options include academic intervention, enrichment, club meetings, service learning, Genius Hour, physical activities, and any number of other options. It is designed to allow students to maximize their learning and receive the extra help and enrichment they need without having to stay after school as often. Lead also includes our student-designed House system where kids meet in small group Advisories with a staff member they loop with throughout their high school career to build a sense of belonging to OCHS.
