Year 6 residential
54 of our year 6 children enjoyed a very exciting couple of days on their residential trip this week. We have visited Culmington Manor in Shropshire for a number of years, and the company are well used to providing a great experience for year 6 children. Children took part in a variety of activity sessions, including axe throwing, underground maze, low ropes, aeroball, bouldering, blind trail, abseiling, zip wire and the obligatory disco! The children had such fun and ate so well over the three day visit. Below is a taster of the photos from the residential trip, if you follow our Facebook page you will have seen so many photos of the trip! Huge thank you to the adults who attended the trip and made sure the children had an amazing time - Diolch Mrs Littlewood, Mrs Williams, Miss Ellett, Miss Vaughan, Mrs Whiteley and Mr Faulkner.

Football Tournament
What a fantastic day of football we had at the Bridgend and District Schools Football Tournament on Thursday. We took two girls' teams and one boys' team to the tournament, and we could not be more proud of their dedication and behaviour today. We are delighted to report that the teams got through to the knockout stages, and every player should be so proud of themselves. Thank you to the parent coaches from Bridgend Town Football Club for your commitment to the tournament, and Mrs Evans and Miss Pearsall for motivating the players. Well done Team Oldcastle!
We recognised our footballers in assembly today.
Both our swimming and football teams looked amazing in new sports tops we have been able to purchase thanks to some recent sponsorship funding. Thank you so much Waters Edge for your support - it made such a difference to the children to look the part in their competitions!
PTA Disco
The PTA are holding a disco on Friday 24th April - Tickets are £2.50 each and the PTA will be accepting cash payment at the door. Please do not send money into school, bring the payment with you on the day. All children need to be supervised whilst at the disco.
You will need to complete a separate form for every child you wish to purchase a ticket for. The PTA are hoping to be paperless so will not be sending tickets home. Please keep your email to hand and show this to gain entry to the disco. The PTA will have a list on the door of all tickets ordered.
Tickets are allocated on a first come first served basis and are limited due to fire regulations. We cannot guarantee entry to anyone who has not pre ordered a ticket.
Drinks, sweets and snacks will be available to purchase at the disco.
