Are you looking for ways to help our classroom? Here are some great ideas below!
Prayers- Most importantly, our students, staff, school, and community can always use more prayers! Please pray for us often!
Time- Whether you have ten minutes sporadically or for an hour on a regular basis, we are always happy to have parents, grandparents and other caregivers help us, especially doing literacy or math centers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mrs. Vigil a.s.a.p. Please Note: All volunteers must have completed the Virtus Training and a copy of completion must be on file with the school office. Virtus training must be completed every five years. If you have any questions or need any help please contact Mrs. Vigil or the school office.
Donate or Declutter- Are you trying to clean out your garage, playroom, or declutter other random things around your house? We probably have a use for it! Hardcover books in gently used or new condition, plastic lids of all sizes, egg cartons (especially ones that can hold eighteen eggs), empty toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls, foil, sandwich bags, rubber bands, cups, yarn, pool noodles, plastic utensils, tupperware containers, old wooden train tracks, engines or train cars, pretend food, old telephones, old computer keyboards, tennis shoes with tie shoelaces, Halloween or dress up costumes, bubbles, clothespins, shaving cream, nuts and bolts, cookie cutters, plastic Easter eggs, straws (especially green ones), cookie sheets, and muffin tins (the 4x3 pans) etc. are great for creating hands on centers and materials for other projects. If you have something else that you think would be helpful, just ask and I'll see if we can repurpose it!
Purchase Something- We're in the process of rebuilding our classroom and expanding and diversifying our classroom library and centers to provide more hands on opportunities to keep our students engaged. I also heavily supplement our lesson content with resources from Teacherspayteachers.com. If you feel called to purchase something for our classroom, gift cards to Teacherspayteachers.com, Orientaltrading.com, Amazon.com, Walmart, Target, The Dollar Tree, or Lakeshore Learning would be most helpful as those are the places I buy most of the things for our classroom. We also have an Amazon wishlist you can find here. Remember, if you use Amazon Smile and have your charity set to OLA Parish, a percentage of your purchase goes back to our school at no additional charge to you! If you are looking for gift ideas for me for Teachers' Appreciation Day, Christmas, Valentine's Day, the End of the School Year, or Just Because, purchasing something for our class or giving me a giftcard for our class is always appreciated in lieu of gifts for me personally. :)
Thank you for your generous support in helping our classroom grow and learn! God Bless!
