This unique family-based, school readiness program arms you with information, activities, and materials to use with your young child, supporting you as you give your child the smart start they need and deserve. The first five years are critical in preparing a child for school success, and we know that school readiness begins long before a child enters a classroom. Overview
OKCPS is excited to offer Ready for Kindergarten this fall! This free family-based school readiness program arms you with information, activities, and educational toys and books to use with your young child to stimulate their development and learning. Ready for Kindergarten will support you in your role as your child's first and most influential teacher. These classes are available for all families living within OKCPS boundaries with children from birth to 5-years-old.
Classes will be offered through Zoom
Classes will be offered in English and Spanish
Families may pick up their bags on the following Saturday after they have completed their class. Specific details will be announced at the end of class.

Ready for Kindergarten Part 2 Winter 2026
Virtual Sessions
You will choose the session based on your child's current age.
(Each Day and Time is offered in both English and Spanish)
0-1 year olds: January 12th and February 23rd at 6:30pm
1-2 year olds: January 12th and February 23rd at 8pm
2-3 year olds: January 13th and February 24th 11th at 8pm
3-4 year olds: January 15th and February 25th at 8pm
4-5 year olds: January 16th and February 27th at 8pm
In-Person Sessions
At in-person sessions all ages are offered on the date and time.
Gatewood Early Learning Center (1821 NW 21st Street, OKC) on January 31st with English sessions at 10:30am and Spanish sessions at 1:30pm
Coolidge Elementary School (5212 S Villa Ave, OKC) on February 7th with Spanish sessions at 10:30am and English sessions at 1:30pm
Ready for Kindergarten Part 3 Spring 2026
Virtual Sessions
You will choose the session based on your child's current age.

0-1 year olds: March 30th and May 4th at 6:30pm
1-2 year olds: March 30th and May 4th at 8pm
2-3 year olds: April 1st and May 5th at 8pm
3-4 year olds: April 2nd and May 6th at 8pm
4-5 year olds: April 3rd and May 7th at 8pm
In-Person Sessions
At in-person sessions all ages are offered on the date and time.
