Module 1

Camera Shots and Angles

We briefly discussed script writing, which we will focus on more in the second nine weeks.

It is important to know your camera shots and angles as well as their abbreviations. Not only will you use them for script writing, but they will be used while filming the show and live events. If the director asks you to get a Medium Close-up and you don't know what that means, you will miss the shot, and we can't ask them to do it again! We went over this presentation in class:

You should also be familiar with the terms on this cheat sheet:

We will have a test on these terms Friday, October 30!

Module 2

Match Edits and Adobe Rush

Coronavirus has put us in an interesting situation. We may not always have access to equipment. Something we do have access to is our cellular phones! In this unit we are going to watch a video from Adobe Max by Amber Torrealba. In the session, Amber will walk you through the basics of using Adobe Rush to edit videos on your device, as well as an editing technique called match edits. You will need to log-in with your Adobe ID to watch it.

While watching the session, complete the guided notes:

Now, you will create your own video, preferably using Adobe Rush on your phone. If you cannot download the app, you can record your shots and use our computers to edit. You will be filming and editing a video timeline of your day. The video must be 60 seconds and you will incorporate the match edit technique. You will need to storyboard your video first, then shoot and edit it!
