I’m Ashley Crocker, and I’m so excited to be starting my 20th year of teaching—time really does fly when you love what you do! Over the years, I’ve taught everything from 4th to 8th grade, and I’ve truly enjoyed the unique energy and curiosity that each grade brings.
I grew up in Sonora, where I also began my teaching career. Three years ago, I joined the amazing team at Magnolia Elementary, and it’s been such a wonderful place to grow as an educator. Although I’ve been teaching at Magnolia for a few years now, my husband Jim and I just made the official move to the area this past December.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Stanislaus State University, and have minors in both English and Social Studies. I’ve always had a passion for reading and history, and I love bringing that into my classroom in fun and engaging ways.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with Jim and our small (but full of personality!) dog, Sumo. I also love reading, going for walks, listening to music, and doing a little shopping when I get the chance.
My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels safe, respected, and treated with fairness. I want to encourage curiosity by inviting students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and develop a true passion for learning. We’ll engage in hands-on projects, discover interesting topics, and build important skills that will serve them well beyond this year.
I know that strong communication and partnership with families are key to a successful school year. I’ll make sure to keep you updated on classroom happenings, upcoming events, and your child’s progress. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns—working together makes a big difference. I’m excited to meet everyone and look forward to a wonderful 6th-grade year full of growth, accomplishments, and fun experiences!

There are plenty of YouTube videos to help with EACH problem set/classwork.
Click the buttons below to find the help you are looking for.
Let me start by saying this: I do not feel students should have a ton of homework after they have been at school all day, however, practicing math and having concepts spiraled and reviewed throughout the year is extremely beneficial to their learning. I try to give as much time in class to complete their homework.
Students will be given a weekly review packet on Mondays that are due by Friday. Each packet has ELA daily review and math daily review. Students may complete the packet in one day or 4 days, but the entire packet is due by Friday.
Students will be given daily math problems from the "problem set" in their math notebooks. There is a homework helper page in the book, and they should refer to the notes they took in class to assist them. If they are absent, please refer to the math homework helper dropdown for helpful videos and links.
All incomplete classwork is homework. Therefore if a student is utilizing class time wisely, they will not have extra homework to complete. Any missing assignments (excluding tests) are also considered homework.
