Hi there!
My name is Miss Stevens, and I am eager to be your child's teacher this school year.
This is my 6th year teaching, and I LOVE 6th grade!
I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Through this, I was able to complete my student teaching abroad in Melbourne, Australia at an international school. I then taught for two years before earning my Masters degree from Western Governors University in Curriculum and Instruction to enhance my educational background in teaching.
In my spare time, I enjoy training my dog (Henry), rock climbing with friends, and reading at coffee shops!
I believe 6th grade is one of the most important years in education, and I am absolutely thrilled to play a part in your child's life as their teacher this year.
Our classroom will be a place that is safe, and fair for everyone. I value communication and rely heavily on the support provided by families. I am very excited to meet all of you and cannot wait for a successful year!
Sincerely,
Miss Stevens

There are plenty of YouTube videos to help with EACH problem set/classwork. Click the dropdown menu to see some helpful links.
Let me start by saying this: I do not feel students should have a ton of homework after they have been at school all day, however, practicing math and having concepts spiraled and reviewed throughout the year is extremely beneficial to their learning. I try to give as much time in class to complete their homework.
Students will be given a weekly review packet on Mondays that are due by Friday. Each packet has ELA daily review and math daily review. Students may complete the packet in one day or 4 days, but the entire packet is due by Friday.
Students will be given daily math problems from the "problem set" in their math notebooks. There is a homework helper page in the book, and they should refer to the notes they took in class to assist them. If they are absent, please refer to the math homework helper dropdown for helpful videos and links.
All incomplete classwork is homework. Therefore if a student is utilizing class time wisely, they will not have extra homework to complete. Any missing assignments (excluding tests) are also considered homework.
