Organization: The Clintonville Community Choir

Description and Qualifications:
The Artistic Director (AD) is responsible for conducting the Clintonville Community Choir at all rehearsals and concerts and selecting music to be performed by the Choir. The Choir hosts three seasons, with two concerts at the end of each season, and typically rehearses from 7-9pm on Monday evenings.
The AD is subject to the vision and mission of the Choir in partnership with the Board; ultimately, our goals are to enhance the musical environment in Clintonville, Ohio (Columbus, Ohio); to provide an opportunity for musical expression and growth among the members; and to provide an opportunity for contact among musicians of varying levels of proficiency.
The Clintonville Community Choir is a non-profit IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. We encourage anyone interested to apply; we love to hear from directors and conductors of all backgrounds.

Description and Qualifications:
The Role
Provide vocal/choral music instruction for students in grades 5–12 at one campus location. This includes 5th and 6th grade-level choral ensembles that meet every other day, a combined 7th-8th grade choral ensemble that meets daily, two high school vocal ensembles that meet on a rotating block schedule (mixed choir and women’s choir) and one semester of Men’s Choir. All ensembles perform in semester concerts.
Teach one semester of advanced music theory on a rotating block schedule in the opposite semester of Men’s Choir.
Support instrumental departmental colleague as needed for semester concerts.
Support NDCL music ministry.
Annual musical theater vocal coaching (additional stipend, not the show director).
Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate degree in music education.
Appropriate licensure from the State of Ohio.
Prior music teaching experience a plus.
Piano skill level for daily teaching success, advance piano skills a plus.

Status: Full-Time

Description and Qualifications:
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' understanding, appreciation of the art of music, including listening to a wide range of musical genre, periods and styles.
To identify, promote and develop each student's talents in vocal musical expression.
Essential Functions:
Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
Develops balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, rehearsal, and instruction.
Develops a performance based vocal music program that includes vocal and choreography instruction.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, as appropriate.
Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to ensure a productive learning atmosphere during practice, rehearsal and performances.
Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
Selects and requisitions appropriate music supplies and instrumental equipment, maintains inventory records, and ensures equipment is in good working order.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to play an instrument or instruments, conduct students in playing instruments as needed.
Ability to instruct students in singing, harmonization, chorus and choreography.
Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Certification/License:
Ohio certification/licensure as a Music Teacher
Education:
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Master's Degree preferred.
Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience in vocal music for the appropriate grade level preferred.
