Jordan the Judge is an evaluative thinker who encourages students to justify their answers and elaborate on their reasoning and ideas. He wants students to look at issues from different perspectives to make the best decision.
Kindergarten students reasoned between two choices, such as pizza vs ice cream, a large house vs a small house, and reading vs cooking. Students were asked to give two reasons for their choice. This required more thinking than students were prepared for and it made for interesting and exciting conversation. They also did a few exercises to show their favorite fall activities.
1st grade students looked at four images with similar qualities and had to reason which does not belong. Students attempted to find something different about each of the four items in order to justify how each one could potentially be crossed out.
