This is year 22 of teaching for me, and my 20th year in kindergarten (if you don't count the one I spent as a student right in this building!).
My philosophy of education is derived from a quote I cherish from the late Mr. Fred Rogers: "A love of learning has a lot to do with learning that we are loved." I treasure the opportunity to create an environment for and develop relationships with my students that allow them to learn and grow in a space where they feel connected and safe. These foundational pieces allow my students flourish in both academic and social/emotional development.
Outside the classroom, you'll find me: playing piano or volleyball with my 5th grader, reading about or tracking Pokemon around town with my 2nd grader, chasing my Frenchies around the backyard, doing projects with my husband, or reading and learning something new to make me a better mom, teacher, and human!

This is my 3rd year of teaching, and also my 3rd year at OFE! I have enjoyed my time in this district so much and I look forward to many more years to come!
I value creating meaningful relationships with students while also building their skill sets to help them become successful learners both in and outside of the classroom.
Outside of teaching kindergarten, I also help coach the OFHS dance team. I love spending time with my family and friends and travelling in my free time.

This year is my 28 th year of teaching. I am proud to say that 23 years have been in kindergarten at OFE. I absolutely love working with this grade and age and I smile and giggle daily because of it!
It has always been a goal of mine to have my students enjoy coming to school each day. Much of my time is spent on building connections and relationships with my students so they feel safe, comfortable and excited about being at school. I believe in building a strong classroom community that is based on respect, active learning, problem solving, answering and asking questions, creative thinking and developing the whole child. This is the foundation of my classroom and what keeps us moving forward socially, and emotionally and academically.
When I’m not at school, I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy camping, sitting next to a campfire, curling up with a good book and enjoying the simple things in life.
