Led by the steady buzz of conversations between guests and artisans alike under the comforting hues of the afternoon sun, the artisan market is a coveted event that enables us to celebrate local art and culture alongside other artists and businesses. As a fledgling business that was initially launched as an online store, artisan events have always remained close to our hearts as they provided us the golden opportunity to directly interact with our customers in a more personal and intimate setting. These events or festivities are typically accompanied with live music and a grand display of food and beverage options to feast on while perusing through an impressive selection of products.
Over the last few years, we have gotten busier as a store and it has increasingly become more challenging to squeeze artisanal events into our calendars, but we still try to participate in them as much as our schedule permits!
Artisan Market at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa (2022)
After a brief hiatus, the artisan market held at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort and Spa in 2022 was the first artisan event we participated in post-pandemic. Home to 176 guest rooms and villas furnished in a tropical style with an impressive range of amenities, the five pearl luxury resort makes the perfect backdrop to unwind for guests yearning for rejuvenation. The sleek and contemporary resort stands out in all its grandeur on its own private island Furanafushi, in the North Male Atoll with an uninterrupted view of the cerulean waters and stunning vegetation.
Artisan Market at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island (2019)
The artisan market held at Conrad Rangali Island in 2019 was a one-day event that we successfully spent mingling with guests and participants whilst taking in every minute of the intricate beauty of the resort and its stunning surroundings. Guests visiting the pristine island that sits in the heart of Dhaalu Atoll, will be met with 50 luxurious water villas, 79 exotic beach villas, 15 fabulous retreat water villas with private treatment rooms and six family villas adorned by flora and serene waters. With one-of-a-kind experiences that span across aquatic gardens, rare marine life, and underwater dining options, Conrad Rangali Island is an exquisite emerald gem in the crystal lagoons of the Maldives.
Artisan Market at Kandima Maldives (2018)
In 2018, following the official launch of our store, we visited Kandima Maldives for their artisan market event held to commemorate local artisans and designers. Located in the Dhaalu Atoll, Kandima Island Resort is a pristine stretch of white sandbank, sun-kissed and surrounded by luscious turquoise waters teeming with flora and fauna. The beutiful island resort that is only a thirty minute flight away from the Velana International Airport, boasts an impressive range of 266 stylishly designed studios and villas and 10 extraordinary dining venues.
Christmas Market Pop up at Kuramathi Island Resort (2017 - 2019)
We have been a regular visitor of Kuramathi Island Resort for their annual Christmas market pop up held every festive season since 2017. At 2 km long, the small yet quaint Kuramathi Island Resort makes the perfect getaway spot for both locals and tourists to enjoy and experience a slice of paradise. Known and loved for its stunning topography with palm-fringed beaches and white sandy shorelines, Kuramathi Island Resort offers a blend of contemporary design and nature with their villas that are set on the beach overlooking the Indian Ocean.
