Loan Periods
Books are checked out for 2 weeks.
While we do not charge fines for overdue books, students will receive notices for late materials.
Library Rules
In the library, we follow the Husky EDGE expectations for each building.

Mrs. Franzen is a graduate of South Winneshiek High School (class of 2004), Wartburg College with a Bachelor's in Music Education (class of 2008), Buena Vista University with a Master's in Curriculum & Instruction (class of 2015), and future graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a Master's in Library Sciences (class of 2025).
Mrs. Franzen is in her 2nd year of being a PK-12 librarian for the Oelwein School District. Before being a librarian, Mrs. Franzen was the Middle School Band Director for OMS for 10 years, and taught 5-12 band in Guthrie Center, RRMR, and West Central previous to teaching in Oelwein.
In her free time, Mrs. Franzen enjoys reading, creating stained glass art, and spending time with her family. She enjoys cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and can often be found at local dirt track races during the summer months.
Mrs. Franzen lives in Oelwein with her husband, Dustin, and her 4 children: JJ (4th grade), Harley (2nd grade), Theo (PK), and Vyla (1). She is also the mother to the best fur baby ever, the family dog, Charlie, as well as three turtles: Georgia (a yellow bellied slider), Eliza (a Russian tortoise), and Alexander (a Russian Tortoise).
