What is a Mystery Reader?
Students love being read to! I want to get the student's families involved in my classroom. Every Friday from 2:40-2:55 you can sign up to read a book to the class. It will be kept a surprise who the mystery reader is until they arrive. Please keep it a secret from you student too! The mystery reader can be anyone (parents, grandparents, siblings, or anyone else that is important to your student).
To sign up for a Friday you can scan the qr code to the right or click where it says click here. Please only sign up for one date, so everyone has a chance to secure one date.
You will be sent a reminder through the sign up link two days before the day/time you signed up for. On the Monday of the week you signed up for I will send an email reminder to the email you signed up with. I will also send one more follow up email the day prior to your date. Please reach out to me if you need to cancel the date you signed up for so I can make arrangements for that day.
I want to invite you to bring in a favorite book of yours to read aloud to the students. This would be a wonderful opportunity for you to engage with the class and contribute to our growing collection of books. After the reading, if you would like, you may donate the book to our classroom library. However, please note that this is entirely optional and there is no obligation to do so. If you would like me to select a book let me know in the emails prior to the date.
If Fridays do not work for your family please reach out to me. I want to accommodate for all the students to have someone special come to the class and read.
