At the beginning of every month a book report will be sent out. These are designed so the students will be able to complete these mostly alone with parent guidance. Students will need assistance with reading on most of these book reports. The book reports will be due at the end of the month and the due date will be attached with the book report when sent home.
Due: September 6th
Nursery Rhyme Presentation
Report: The students will choose any Mother Goose poem to recite by memory to the class or if they are nervous you can video their book report. If you choose to video your book report on the day the class is presenting , it will be shown to the class on the board. The poem can be one of the nursery rhymes we have learned in class or that has been learned at home. There is no paper to fill out as this book report is entirely based on presentation.

Class Alphabet Book
Report: Students will draw pictures and write words for their assigned letter. Pick pictures and words that start with the begging sound of your assigned letter. If you are assigened a, e, i, o, u, or x you can have the pictures match with words that have the letters in the middle or end of the words.

Award Winning Picture Book
Report: Students will complete the “Picture Walk” form based on the book they read. Name, title, and author must be written by student. Writing should be neat and legible. Students should draw and color a picture about an event from the beginning, middle, and end of the book. Pictures need to be drawn and colored completely by the student. The pictures should be nice and neat.
Due: November 26th
Fiction or Nonfiction Farm Picture Book
Report: Students will redesign a cover for the farm book they read. Make sure the title and author are on the book report.
Due: December 15th
Informative Book
Report: Students will read an informative book on a country or continent. Students will fill out the information on the continent worksheet that country or continent. Attach the worksheet to a brown bag. Inside the brown bag, place 3 items that represent the country or continent read about. Students will present the 3 items to the class. Make sure students can explain how the objects relate.

Fairy Tale or Fable
Report: Students will pick a fairy tale book or fable book of their choice to read. Students will complete the Story Elements Organizer form based on the book they read. Please make sure the student writes their name, the title, and the author on their report. They also need to write or illustrate the setting, character, problem, and solution. Pictures should be neat and colored and writing should be neat and legible.
Due: February 27th
Dr. Seuss Book
Report: Students will make a mobile about the story using a hanger (wire hangers work best). On the mobile they need to have their name, the title and author of the book. They also need 4-5 pictures or objects hanging from their mobile. Please make sure all pictures are drawn by the student.
Due: March 28th
Historical Fiction/History Book
Report: Students will complete a book review of the book they just read. Students should write their name and the title of the book. Students should color the stars neatly to show how they liked or disliked the book. Students should write one sentence stating their favorite part of the book along with drawing a small picture of their favorite part.
Due: May 9th
American Symbols
Report: Students will read two sources (a book and website) to learn about American symbols. Students need to list their sources on the worksheets. Students should make either a poster or a diorama representing their American Symbol. Students should be prepared to present a 3-4 minute presentation about their symbol using their poster or diorama.
