Dipole Flat Top Configuration Construction
Materials used :
● BNTECHGO 18AWG silicone rubber stranded thinned copper wire
● Wooden dowel and base
● Screw to connect base
● Superbat RF RG174 Coaxial Black cable 50ohm
● Red and black electrical tape
●Wire cutter
● Solder
● Soldering iron
Method :
● Cut two pieces of the 18AWG wire to be 8.1 inches long each ( This is my dipole arms)
● Splice both ends of the 18AWG wire
● Splice the black coaxial cable to show ground wire and then splice the inner conductor insulation to
show active wire
● Intertwined the active wire of the coaxial cable with one end of the dipole arm and then solder it
● Intertwine the ground wire of the coaxial cable with end of the other dipole arm and then solder it
● Wrapped electrical tape over the exposed wire
● The end of the expose dipole arm wire will also be wrapped with electrical tape
● Tape the antenna onto a wooden dowel (Will use another dowel in a horizontal position to hold the
dipole arm horizontally so it does not drop down)
