Senior Design Project Overview
Smart agriculture systems are revolutionizing farming by improving sustainability, productivity, and efficiency. A critical aspect of farming is monitoring environmental conditions, especially soil temperature, which directly impacts seed germination and crop growth. This project develops an Agriculture Temperature Monitoring Wireless System to help farmers efficiently track environmental temperatures. The system uses an Arduino microcontroller with a 433 MHz RF module for wireless communication. A temperature sensor collects real-time data, which is transmitted to the receiver and displayed on an LCD screen. To improve communication range, a flat-top dipole antenna, designed and built as part of this project, ensures reliable data transfer over large areas. This system enables farmers to make informed decisions about planting, irrigation, and climate management, ultimately optimizing crop growth and promoting sustainable farming practices.
