Circuit of digital time bases and gated counters
Project Objective
Connecting a 32.768kHz oscillator, a CD4011 Quad NAND gate , CD4027 Dual J-K Flip flop , CD4029 4 Bit- Binary/ BCD counter and a CD4060 stage ripple counter unto a circuit breadboard .
Measuring the output from the Q outputs of the CD4060 and confirming accuracy by calculating the frequency with the observed pulse outputs and time duration .
Observing the accuracy of the frequency reading using a stable frequency source from a crystal oscillator measuring the Q outputs.
The 32.768kHz Crystal Oscillator is used as an accurate frequency source .
The frequency out formula would be 32.768Khz divided by two to the power of 15 which is the number of flip flops that is in the CD4060 combined with the T flip flop using the CD4027 presented in the circuit which would be equal to 1Hz .
