People seem to argue about everything. No matter what age a person is there will always be something to argue about. Children might argue about the toy they want or their favorite color and adults might argue about politics or religion. As people grow up their interests change and they become passionate about different topics. Since so many people will explore different interests there can be a lot of arguing over different topics. The quote, “The life a person lives is the greatest argument he or she will ever make.” explains this idea. This quote is proven every day when people share their different beliefs and make their own choices.
Watching the news or talking with others will quickly demonstrate how everyone has different beliefs. The fact that Old Dominion University has over 300 student organizations proves that everyone has different interests (ODU). Some of these organizations are based around a college major or religion. These organizations could probably have a long argument about why they believe their major or religion is the best. There are also organizations like the Outdoor Conservation Club. A conservation club could probably provide a good argument on why we should recycle and take care of our environment. All these club members are showing us what they believe in and what they think is interesting. When people find something they are passionate about they can easily create solid arguments compared to someone trying to argue about a topic they do not find interesting. This is seen around the country when people have debates about changing laws or who is best fit for president. Debates become very heated and emotional when people believe their lives are going to be greatly affected. If you were arguing for something that was extremely important to you how hard would you work to make sure your argument was the best it could be?
Life is filled with critical choices that must be made every day. When people choose to vote for a politician they try to argue why that politician will have the best impact on their life. Also, when a student picks their major they have probably done a lot of arguing with themselves and maybe the people around them. These arguments that we create are very important because life choices can lead people to success. John C. Maxwell said, “Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.” (Meah). Maxwell’s quote explains why arguments discussing what people should do in life must be strong and clear. Arguing over what college to pick or what job to look for are very important because they can alter a person’s life.
When people find things they enjoy they become emotionally attached and can argue with anyone that is trying to take it away. Since people believe so much in their choices their arguments become full of passion and it will show in their arguments. This quote explains how people argue over the significant parts of their life, “The life a person lives is the greatest argument she or he will ever make.”
